What is the proper way to slice a grapefruit?
August 17th, 2009 | by admin |Is there a certain way you need to slice it? I want it to divide into the small sections that you scoop out to eat.
cut it across the middle and they make spoons with serated edges to spoon it out

I just slice it in half and scoop it out with a spoon.

You can see what is the top and bottom, cut it in half at the "Equator"
you will see segment parts separated by membranes,
Slide a knife along each side of each membrane to separate the flesh from the membrane to make each segment easier to scoop out.

In general, there’s no need to do any slicing. You can maybe do an initial shallow cut so you can peel off the skin. The fruit will be divided into segments. Separate each segment. Peel off the membrane on each side. Then scoop out the fruit.
