How do I make enough dough for 1 slice of pizza without yeast?

January 18th, 2010 | by admin |

My daughter loves having a slice of pizza when she comes home from school, but I ran out of yeast!!! HELP!

You can use bisquick b/c it is fully mixed to rise. Make it the way the package calls for drop biscuits. Roll it into a personal pizza size, top it, bake it and serve that puppy up.
You can also use english muffins or toasted hamburger buns.
I toast mine like a grilled cheese. Butter, fry, top and nuke for a couple of seconds to get the cheese melting.

You might try getting a pillsbury dough tube… maybe the biscuit or the croissant one would work.

Unless you have a ready-to-bake dough, you need yeast – unleavened crust for pizza won’t taste right, especially if you’re following a recipe.

Do you think maybe your daughter could eat something else for one day?

You could use a pita or tortilla instead; even a round of ordinary bread.

This will make more than once slice

    Yeast-free pizza dough

    Ingredients
    1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 tablespoon baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup water
    2 tablespoons olive oil

    Method
Place 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a bowl. Make a well in the center and add 1/2 cup water and 2 tablespoons olive oil.

Combine by gradually incorporating the flour into the olive oil and water, adding a little extra water if necessary. (Alternatively, combine the mixture in a food processor.)

Transfer the dough to a floured board and knead until smooth and elastic, 5-7 minutes

Making dough and everything for only one slice of pizza is a waste of time and energy.

Use a tortilla, tost it in the oven then add toppings. Or use a slice of bread, a bagel, cerecent roll etc…
