Try the v slicer.
You can buy it in stores a little cheaper than shown on the website.

Purchase a mandolin. I believe you can get one at Walmart. It slices other things as well as being able to do different types of cuts (julienne,…..).

get a mandoline….the expensive ones are around $100 (USD) … and the less expensive ones are around $30 … if you do a lot of cooking and entertaining you might consider the expensive one…. or else, considering the fact that most marmalade is made from slices a little less than 1/4" thick, maybe you could just use a really good sharp knife …

I think you arew looking for a grater … so that you can have those small thin threads of orange peel ….am I right?
Get a good grater and on the side with the smaller holes gently grate (shred) the rind not getting any pith.
You can also take your time and use a potato peeler in the same manner.
If you are making marmalade, you really dont have to have little shreds…. you can just have grated peel also.

Old git has the answer
a sharp knife, fits neatly into the draw, has thousands of different uses, easy to clean, needs no electricity, and you can use it to peel oranges as well.

A sharp knife and a steady hand. Most kitchen knifes I dare ride bare arzed to blackpoool on, get a fine file busy then an oilstone, careful or its hospital time…

I’ve been using the Borner V slicer for at least 20 years and dread to think how many pounds of orange, lemon, lime and grapefruit marmalade I’ve made with it! It is quick, simple, safe and has a million other uses in the kitchen. If you go to http://www.selkin.co.uk they have not only the V slicer as it always comes but other bits that you can use with it. I’m still using the basic frame that I was given all those years ago but have replaced one or two inserts and the safety guard. I use it almost every day!
