How to not slice a golf ball when driving?
December 24th, 2009 | by admin |
rotate your left hand further to the left and make the V in your hand point to your shoulder. When you take your club back, don’t bend the club backwards with your wrists too early, make sure you do it gradually. Its almost as if your wrists stay stiff with the club for a little while before you bend them. Take your club face STRAIGHT BACK instead of bringing it on the inside, then as you go down on your swing, tuck your elbow into your hip and try to hit the lower inside of the ball. Make sure you don’t go too fast on your backswing and accelerate through the ball. Most people make the mistake of trying to hit their driver 150%X the speed of their irons, when, if they swung 3/4 the speed they normally do, the ball goes further and straighter. Should work with practice.
forgot to mention, if your skinny and tall, stand closer to the ball and make your backswing should be higher than what your used to. If your chubby, the backswing should be a little more flat.

The worst thing A slicer can do is aim more left. It only make it easier to slice the ball. Aim straight down the target line and concentrate on taking the club staight back and straight through. Above all not not aim more left.

Keep your head behind the ball and remember to follow through.

Move your stance so that the ball is even with your front heel. Sounds like the ball is a little forward in your stance. You might also want to close the club face a little bit.
