Your expectations increase. You always want a little more. Stick to the basics each and every swing. Topping the ball...you are standing up in your swing. Stay down. You know, after thinking about all the advice I could share I think the best advice is to take a couple lessons. Well worth the investment and return on the money you spend on a round. You want the best experience for the buck!
References :
When you get tired, you go back to what you have practised. That is why the top golfers spend so much time on the driving range.

If concentration is a problem after 5 holes, have a caffeine snack or drink to get you back in focus.
Also, relax while walking from shot to shot and then use a saying to focus again on the shot. If your problem is from lifting the head too early or loosening your grip, just focus on those 1 or 2 things.

Good luck out there
References :
this happens to me sometimes.
i think im having a really good round so i start to relax alot. most of the time i relax to much and i start hitting bad shots. then bad shots piss me off then it is all down hill from there. but when i stay fully focused through every shot, i do good every round.
so just try to stay concentrated the whole time
References :
First of all, start practicing shots at a driving range or on the course. A lesson or two in the fundamentals of the golf swing would be more helpful. Until such time that you have a repeatable golf swing you will always have a problem. What is happening in your case is what most novice players experience. You swing smoothly at the start. Your results are acceptable. Now you try for more distance and the swing gets out of rhythm and all bad things happen. So, take a couple of basic swing lessons. Practice what you are taught. At this point the mechanic needs repairing. All the tools are fine.
References :
75 years of playing the game and watching people flounder.

Golf is a very psychological game. If you expect that you will do poorly around the 5th or 6th hole you most likely sre setting yourself up for self destruction mode. The brain usually follows what you are thinking about with the most emotion and it thinks that you want to start slicing and hooking around the 5th 6th hole. You have to reprogram your brain into thinking that you are going to hit great shots if not the best shots after 5th 6th hole.
We all tend to put a lot of emotion into our bad shots and not enough for our good ones. Next time you hit a good shot give yourself a nice fist pump and congratulate yourself to let your brain know that's what you like and put very little emotion into a bad shot so it can forget it. Try that on the range to start.
Also, as we get further into our round we will gradually speed up our swing which will cause these mishits. Keep an eye on your tempo and make sure your swing remains consistent . As for the ball, you would have to have a swing analysis to see what ball is optimal for you and your swing speed and ball trajectory. Hope that helps with you game and good luck.
References :
Teaching pro, knowledge of golf psychology.

you might be getting simply worn out, maybe try taking a cart next time if you can, the ball doesn't make a difference, any rather modern ball will be fine, many golfers need to put that in their head that its them, not the clubs, not the ball, not the course, its them.
