golf slicing problem?
November 10th, 2009 | by admin |I am using a 45.5 inch mizuno mx560 driver which is a little long for my height. Whenever I hit it, I slice the ball really bad. Are there any way I could fix this beside chocking down on the grip because that didn’t seem to work either.Thank you.
move the ball forward in your stance so the club head is making a square impact through the plane.

The club may not be too big for you. I had the same problem. Make sure that your left heel (if right handed) is on line with the ball. You should be off centre and may look a little strange but it works. Make sure you are stood to the right of the ball. Make sure that you are swinging through the ball at pace because if you don’t you will hit the ball too late causing it to slice. Make sure your starting position is correct and swing through the ball at pace. That should do it

I had the same problem and realised through many efforts that i was cutting across the ball when i swung it. This then puts spin on the ball causing it to slice. To cure it make sure your shoulders are square at the target aswell as your feet, and swing through and up rather than across. It’s almost swing the way the slice is favouring to cure the slice. Golf is a game of opposites, that should work. If not then i suggest having a lesson as your swingplain may be to steep aswell. Hope it helps

Move your right hand more over your left hand and raise your left shoulder not too much though just so its snug. This is called the V grip and it will close the club face at impact which will help against the slice and let you come through the ball on the sweet spot of the driver producing maximum moment of inertia, causing better ball flight, distance, and spin. Or just try to roll your wrist when coming through the ball to close the club’s face, the key is to get the club face closed at impact an that will fix the slice but the first few times you do this it may give you a hook and that’s ok just keep practicing. Good Luck!

There are a number a of things you can do to fix this slice. Try a few or all of them.
1. Stronger Grip
2. Close face at address slightly
3. Grip club through the entire swing very lightly. Do not squeeze club. This is will allow your hands to release through impact naturally squaring up the club.
4. Smooth tempo through entire swing.
5. Don’t aim to the left. This encourages a slice.

Golf slicing is a common problem for the high handicapper. Normally, this is due to your swing from outside – in. In order to cure this problem , you need to change your swing, to swing from inside- out. Please allow me to show you this golf instructions.

A golf slice is very common, and everybody slices the ball; some do it more than others. If you can keep the club head square to the ball on strike, and drive in a straight line to the target, then the ball will travel straight on a windless day. If you turn your grip a bit more anti-clockwise, you should also turn your club head round more when it strikes the ball. If you keep practicing until you are hitting straight, you will avoid slicing as long as you retain your new grip. You are best to do this on the range since you don’t want to be practicing during a round. If that doesn’t work you will need to have a close look at your drive. Have a word with the club pro and you will probably get some help to spot where you are going wrong. Sometimes that’s all it takes, and a simple suggestion can resolve it. With others, however, the golf slicing problem is not so easy to cure and further professional help is required.
