Does an apple slice have any bacteria on it?

October 31st, 2009 | by admin |

If you cut an apple open, and use the inside whitish part of it, does that have any bacteria on it? I need to use some sort of clean food for my science fair project : http://www.usc.edu/CSSF/History/2008/Projects/J1433.pdf
and i dont want to use hershey kisses. so anyone know? and if apples do, what other food doesn’t?

The minute you expose the cut apple to air it will begin to collect bacteria from the air. Only foods kept in a sterile environment will be bacteria free.
