Is there a technical explanation for why you should put a single piece of toast on the marked side of the toaster? Or is it just a case of idiot-proofing?

This has always perplexed me and I have never found a logical reason. Half a slice of cheese covers half of the sandwich. Why is it only like this on the fish sandwich? Please help.

has n - e 1 ever tried slicing zucchini into long thin strips like spaghetti, sauteing them and topping with spaghetti sauce? does it taste okay as a sustitute for the pasta?

it's hard to tell where the grain is on it, and i know i need to slice against the grain but which way?
Beef tongue is sliced across the narrow part, and it's a good idea to skin it first.
